DAVID PETRUZZIELLO JR. WINS HIS FIRST LIGBT TITLE

East Meadow, NY:  David Petruzziello Jr., a 33 year old Auto Dealer General Manager from West Haven, CT won his first LIGBT tournament at AMF E. Meadow on Sunday.  David made the finals as the “wildcard” winner and swept through 4 final rounds to claim the $1,200 top prize. To win the LIGBT trophy David defeated Jeonghun Ji, Flushing, NY 271-227 in the final shootout. While Jeonghun earned $600 for second Andrew Mienkiewicz, Massapequa,NY earned $400 for third with a 216 and fourth went to Darcy Monroe, East Meadow, NY with a 206 worth $300.

The final shootout was close early as all 4 bowlers had an open by the third frame. David’s road to victory began, after he opened in the first frame, by throwing the next 5 out of 6 strikes. None of the other 3 competitors would put up a fight as David cruised to a 44 pin victory.

The AMF E. Meadow tournament drew a great summer crowd of 119 entries, advanced 21 bowlers to the finals, and paid out $5,200. The tournament pattern was “Alcatraz” (38 feet) resulting in moderate cut scores: 695 at 1pm and 671 at 3pm. High series of the tournament was shot by Jeonghun Ji with a 755  in the 3pm squad.  

LIGBT’s next tournament is a house shot event at Whitestone Lanes on Sunday; August 21st. Top prizes are guaranteed to pay $1,200-1st, $600-2nd, $300-3rd, & $250-4th.
