Garden City, NY:  James Dickerson, a 48 year-old letter carrier from Norwalk, CT won the $3,000 top prize at LIGBT’s “End of Summer” Classic at AMF Garden City. James won his second LIGBT title with a 17 pin victory over Gary Paulsen, Massapequa, NY 233-216. While Gary earned $1,500, third place went to 5-time LIGBT title holder, Cary Fishman from NYC with a 192 worth $750. The final spot in the shootout went to Rafael Franco, NYC, with a 179 worth $500.

The End of Summer Classic shootout was a good one with another exciting finish. James was giving handicap to the three shootout finalists but their advantage quickly disappeared as they had multiple opens and James stayed clean through the first 8 frames. Going into the 9th frame Gary had a 2 pin lead over James and amazingly both opened in the 9th. Gary shot first in the final frame and he chopped a spare to leave the door open for James. James doubled in the tenth to win the title and the big money.
