HARRY PARK WINS LIGBT SPRING MAJOR #2

New Hyde Park, NY:  Harry Park, a 46 year old right-hander from Bay Terrace, NY, won the $2,000 top prize at LIGBT’s Spring Major #2 at Herrill Lanes. Harry won his first LIGBT title by defeating Kameron Smith, Tobyhanna, PA 280-275 in the final shootout. Kameron earned $1,000 for second place. Rounding out the top 6 was third place finisher Vinny Nguyen, Flushing, NY with a 265 earning $600, fourth place was Tony Dilluvio, Flushing, NY with a 236 worth $400, fifth went to David Ruiz, Whitestone, NY with a 208 earning $350, and sixth went to Jackie Delawski, Williston Park, NY with a 204 worth $300.  

The final shootout went down to the last frame with 3 bowlers having a chance to win the title. Vinny, who was on a strike in the 9th, needed a double in the 10th frame to take the lead. He threw the first strike but got only 7 on his second shot. Kameron had the lead going into the final frame and spared to force Harry to double to win the title. Harry, who struck in the 9th frame, threw two perfect shots in the 10th to grab his first title and the $2,000 top prize.

The Herrill Lanes event drew a great crowd of 254 entries, advanced 42 bowlers to the finals and paid out $9,810. The cut scores on the “Broadway” pattern ranged from 710 to 756 for the lower average division and 723 to 745 in the higher average division. High series of the tournament was shot by Anthony Fusco, W. Hempstead, NY with an 831 in the Sunday, 1pm squad. There were 4 wildcard winners: The Friday night wildcard winners were Jae Yi, Flushing, NY 1376 & Sun Kim, Flushing, NY 1406. The Sunday wildcard winners were Brendan Delaney, Levittown, NY with a 1435 and Calvin Nottingham, Deer Park, NY with a 1434.

LIGBT’s next tournament is a sport shot event at AMF E. Meadow on Sunday, April 29th. Top prizes are guaranteed at $1,000-$500-$300-$250 with 1 in 6 cashing for a minimum of $100.
