Average & Bonus Pins Rules
Here is how the handicap (90% of 220) & bonus pins are determined:
For bowlers that have a verifiable* incoming average:
- Your handicap is based on your verified average until you bowl 3 events.
- After 9 LIGBT games (220 & under events only) your handicap is determined by your tournament average and will change after each event.
- The LIGBT will be using a F20 pin drop rule" which means the lowest your average can drop for handicapping purposes is 20 pins less than your verified incoming average.
For bowlers without a verifiable* incoming average:
- Your handicap is based on your incoming average for the first event only.
- If after 3 games your tournament average is higher than your incoming average your handicap will be based on the higher average.
- If after 3 or 6 games your tournament average is lower than your incoming average your handicap will be based on the incoming average until you have 9 games bowled.
- After 9 games your handicap will be based on your tournament average but is capped using the "20 pin drop rule".
- The LIGBT reserves the right to adjust a bowler's "20 pin drop average", or to adjust an average up or down, if we feel it better protects the membership.

Bonus Pins:
- Every time you bowl & don't make the finals you get 9 bonus pins at your next event.
- You keep on accumulating 9 extra bonus pins until you make the finals.
- Once you make the finals all bonus pins are taken away at your next event.
IT IS THE BOWLER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THE LIGBT HAS WRITTEN DOWN ON YOUR SCORESHEET THE CORRECT HANDICAP & BONUS PINS FOR THAT EVENT.
Please note: If anyone knows a bowler's incoming average is incorrect please notify tournament management. We need your help in keeping ALL of the bowlers honest!
