Wantagh Champion Chris Cincotta

August 19, 2012

Wantagh, NY: The LIGBT crowned another new champion as Chris Cincotta, Seaford, NY won the $1,000 top prize and the champions trophy. There were 107 bowlers attending the Wantagh event and the last person anyone would think could win the tournament was Chris. Chris doesn’t own a bowling ball. To compete in the tournament he used a 13 pound house ball and through it down the middle. This was also Chris’ first tournament ever!

The final shootout was fun to watch as all of the spectators were in disbelief. Chris, who received the maximum handicap in qualifying, still won the tournament despite having his handicap lowered in the final match. In fact, he beat the other two competitors scratch! Final handicap scores in the shootout were Chris; 245, Hee Jin Jun from Flushing, NY; 209 ($500) and Ferrill McNeil, Bronx, NY; 204 ($250.)

The Wantagh tournament was especially challenging as the center put down the 2005 US Open pattern. Scoring was low all day as anyone that bowled their average made the finals! High handicap series in the first squad was only 739 while Miguel Carrion had the high series of the day with a 794.

The next LIGBT event is our Labor Day Weekend Madness Tournament at AMF Babylon (August 31-September 2). Top prizes are guaranteed at $3,000-1st and $1,500-2nd. For complete results of the AMF Wantagh event please visit www.ligbtour.com. To contact the LIGBT please call 1.877.900.6464
