2-Squad SPORT SHOT Tournament Formats
CASH Entry FeeS: $75 & $65

  • 3 game handicap qualifying over 6 lanes
  • Qualifying will be handicap 90% of 210 plus bonus pins earned
  • New members take 20 pins off their highest composite average
  • 1 in 8 will advance to the finals per squad and guaranteed $100 ($150 with 100 or more entries.)
  • 1 in 4 will cash for $75
  • The top qualifying series without bonus pins from each squad will earn 1 bye (guaranteed $150) (must have 9 sport shot games to earn a bye.)
  • The highest 6-game series shot by a non-finalist will be added to the finals as a wildcard entry
  • If less than 1 in 8 women, from the 2 squads combined, make the finals, additional women will be added to the finals until the 1 in 8 ratio is met.
  • The first round of the finals will have all finalists, except the 2 squad leaders bowl 1 game with handicap (no bonus pins in finals) with the top half advancing to Round 2. When there are an odd number of bowlers in a round the smaller number advances & the larger number cashes. NOTE: Any bowler that had an automatic re-rated average in qualifying must use their real LIGBT average in the finals. Any bowler with less than 9 sport shot games prior to the event will also have their average adjusted.
  • The second round of the finals will add the 2 squad leaders with everyone bowling 1 game. The top 4 bowlers will advance to the final shootout.
  • If a senior (50+) did not advance to the shootout the last surviving senior will be added.
  • Top 4 prizes will  pay $1,000-1st / $500-2nd / $300-3rd / $250-4th REGARDLESS OF ENTRIES
  • *Bonus pins will be used in qualifying only and not in the finals or side action. One bonus pin per game will be awarded to all bowlers that fail to make the finals in a tournament. You collect bonus pins for each squad you don't cash (you can gain a maximum 2 per tournament/maximum 12 per game/36 total). If you make the finals and are eliminated in the first round of the finals you lose 6 bonus pins per game. If you advance to round 2 of the finals you will lose all of your bonus pins.

  • The highest 6-game series from the first 2 squads combined, and the last 2 squads combined, will be guaranteed in the finals and earn a bye. (Wildcard bonuses.)
  • The next 16 highest series from all 3 squads combined will advance to the finals for a total of 24 finalists.
  • The finals will be 1 game matches with seeding based on qualifying score.
  • Round 1 of match will be for the bowlers that did not earn a bye. The winners will advance to round 2 and will bowl a match against a squad leader or wildcard winner that earned a bye.
  • The winners of the round 2 matches will bowl a 1 game match with the winners advancing to the final 4 shootout.
  • Top 4 prizes will  pay $1,500-1st / $750-2nd / $500-3rd / $250-4th REGARDLESS OF ENTRIES
  • There is no senior or women bonus in this event.

 5 Squad Major Tournament Formats 
 
Cash Entry Fee: $80 per squad 

TOP PRIZES: $3,000-$1,500-$750-$500

 

  • 3 games of handicap (90% of 210) qualifying over 6 lanes on a sport shot
  • 1 in 8 per squad advances to the finals and 1 in 4 per squad cashes for $80.
  • The top handicap qualifying series (without bonus pins) from each squad, will earn 1 bye (must have 9 sport shot games to earn a bye.)
  • 1 in 8 women entries are guaranteed to advance to the finals (all squads combined.) If not enough women advanced more will be added until the 1 in 8 ratio is met.
  • The highest 6-game series by a non-finalist on Friday, and from the first 2 squads on Sunday, will be added to the finals as wildcard winners.
  • Additional bowlers will make the finals if they choose to compete in the desperado squad. One in 8 bowlers in this 1 game squad will advance to the finals (no bonus pins in the desperado.)
  • ALL FINAL ROUNDS ARE 1 GAME USING SINGLE GAME HANDICAPS (NO BONUS PINS).
  • BOWLERS THAT USED A RE-RATED AVERAGE IN QUALIFYING WILL HAVE THEIR HANDICAP ADJUSTED IN THE FINALS BASED ON THE “REAL” LIGBT AVERAGE. BOWLERS THAT DID NOT HAVE 9 ELIGIBLE SPORT SHOT GAMES PRIOR TO THE EVENT WILL ALSO HAVE THEIR HANDICAP ADJUSTED BASED ON THE GAMES BOWLED THUS FAR IN LIGBT SPORT SHOT EVENTS. ALL BOWLERS WILL BE NOTIFIED IF THEIR HANDICAP IS CHANGED IN THE FINALS.
  • THE FIRST ROUND OF THE FINALS WILL HAVE ALL FINALISTS, EXCEPT THE BOWLERS THAT EARNED BYES, BOWL 1 GAME WITH THE TOP 25% ADVANCING TO ROUND 2. IF THERE IS AN ODD # OF BOWLERS IN A DIVISION THE SMALLER # WILL ADVANCE AND THE LARGER # WILL BE ELIMINATED AND EARN A CASH PRIZE.
  • THE SECOND ROUND WILL INCLUDE THE FIRST ROUND ADVANCERS PLUS THE BOWLERS THAT EARNED 1 BYE. ALL WILL BOWL 1 GAME WITH THE TOP 50% ADVANCING TO ROUND 3.
  • THE THIRD FINAL ROUND WILL HAVE ALL ROUND 2 ADVANCERS BOWL 1 GAME WITH THE TOP 4 ADVANCING TO THE FINAL SHOOTOUT. IF NONE OF THE 4 ADVANCERS FROM ROUND 3 ARE SENIORS (50+) THE LAST REMAINING SENIOR IN THE FINALS WILL BE ADDED TO THE SHOOTOUT.
  • Top prizes will pay a minimum of $3,000-1st, $1,500-2nd, $750-3rd, $500-4th (REGARDLESS OF ENTRIES)

 SCRATCH & HANDICAP MARATHON FORMAT (MODIFIED HOUSE SHOT) 

 CASH Entry Fee: $85 

BOWLERS THAT COMPETE IN BOTH SCRATCH & HANDICAP WILL PAY $150 ($20 DISCOUNT)

  • Everyone bowls 5 games over 10 lanes
  • New bowlers will use their highest composite average the past 2 years minus 20 pins.
  • LIGBT members will use their "real" LIGBT sport shot average
  • Handicap 90% of 210 will be used (no bonus pins)
  • There will be 2 qualifying divisions in the handicap event; bowlers age 49 & under & age 50 & over
  • 1 in 5 per handicap division will cash (minimum $100) with the top 2 from each division advancing to a finals
  • 1 in 5 scratch entries will cash (minimum $100) and 1 in 10 scratch entries will advance to a final shootout
  • The handicap finals will have the 4 advancing bowlers roll a 1 game match to determine the top 4 prize winners.
  • In the scratch event 1 in 10 bowlers that advanced to the finals will roll 1 game to determine the top finishers. Must have a minimum of 20 scratch entries to have a roll off.
  • Top 4 prizes will  pay $1,000-1st / $500-2nd / $300-3rd / $250-4th REGARDLESS OF ENTRIES in the handicap event and with 50 paid entries in the scratch event.
  • House shot events are open tournaments NO MEMBERSHIP FEE REQUIRED. All entrants must meet LIGBT eligibility rules except in the scratch event where all bowlers are welcomed.
