WIN LIGBT DOUBLES TITLE!

 

Congratulations to our latest Doubles Champions Zafar Alli & Rich Motta for winning the $2,000 top prize on Sunday at AMF Garden City. Alli & Rich shot a 4-game total of 2,090 to defeat the team of Gregory Schultz & Nick Falsetta by just 9 pins. Greg & Nick's 2,081 earned them $1,000 for 2nd place. Finishing in 3^rd with a 2,055 was the team of Peter Bishop & Kenny Facey earning $800.

 

The optional singles event was won by Sang Hyub Oh with an 1,115 4-game handicap series. While Oh earned $300 for first place, finishing in 2^nd with a 1078 was Peter Bishop earning $200. Rounding out the top 3 in singles was Joe Granata with a 1,074 worth $120. A total of 59 bowlers entered the optional singles which paid out a $1,180 prize fund. Low to cash (top 14) in singles was 977.

 

Scoring on the Garden City house shot was tremendous. The top 24 teams cashed in the $11,790 prize fund. It took a 1,947 total to visit the cashing window in doubles. With side action, the total payout for the day was $18,085.

 

The AMF Garden City doubles event attracted an amazing 144 teams. The 3 raffle winners were Kenny Facey (Brunswick ball), Valerie DeLillo (Turbo tote) and James Aprile (Turbo tote.) The LIGBT welcomed 11 new bowlers at Sunday's event.

 

Congratulations to all of the cashers and thanks to everyone that competed at AMF Garden City. LIGBT's next event is Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 4 & 6); a House Shot Major at AMF E. Meadow.
