1^st TITLE IS A MAJOR!

 

Congratulations to Andrew Yang for winning your first title on Sunday at AMF Garden City. Andrew won the $2,000 top prize at LIGBT's Holiday House Shot Major by defeating Alex Padmore 264-247 in the final shootout. While Alex earned $1,000 for his 2^nd place finish, there was a tie for 3^rd & 4^th with Joe Scianna and Eric Kwon shooting 246 with each earning $650. Rounding out the top 5 was Joe Scianna, from the scratch division, shooting 242 and earning $500.

 

The July 4^th major had some great bowling. Cut scores were high on the house shot ranging from 741-805 in the 49 & under division, 700-728 in the senior division, and 655-721 in the scratch division. Ricky Santiago shot the high handicap series of the tournament with an 840. 

 

The Garden City major had a huge turnout as 267 bowlers competed for a $15,000 prize fund shared by 71 different cashers. Total payout for the weekend, when including side action, was $24,020.  Raffle winners were Tyshaun Alston (Brunswick Combat Hybrid) and Chaz Nolan (Turbo Triple tote). The LIGBT welcomed 9 new members during the 2-day event.

 

Congratulations to all of the cashers and thanks to everyone that made the July 4^th major a record event. The LIGBT's next event, a 4-game drop-your-low-game tournament, is this coming Saturday, July 11^th (10am start) at Lucky Strike Mineola.
