BIG WINNERS AT AMF GARDEN CITY

The LIGBT finished a very successful Season 16 with the House Shot Championships & Bonus Tournament. Andre McDuffie won the $2,500 main event by defeating 16-year-old student “Mith” Loutan 281-269 in a great final shootout. Mith earned a $1,500 scholarship for his runner-up position. Finishing in 3rd place was Sal Palazzola with a 233 earning $1,000. Rounding out the top 5 was another student, 17-year-old Jason Lam, who finished 4th with a 211 earning a $750 scholarship and 5th place went to Sun Kim who earned $500 with a 196.

The bonus tournament champion was Shawn Cummings who posted an 807 series on Friday and it held up for the $1,000 victory. Finishing in 2nd, and earning $500, was Samantha Galardi with a 787 series. Third place went to Rob Miller with a 748 worth $250. A total of 11 bowlers cashed in the $2,680 bonus prize fund.

The House Shot Championships had a nice turnout of 176 entries, paid out a main event prize fund of $13,080 ($4,320 added by the LIGBT), and had 49 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action added another $5,795 bringing the day’s total payout to $26,795 including the bonus tournament prize fund. There were 2 perfect games shot; Nick Falsetta and Chris Russo shot 300 games on Sunday.

Congratulations to all of the cashers and thanks to everyone that participated this weekend at AMF Garden City. LIGBT begins Season 17 on Sunday, October 20th at AMF E. Meadow with a sport shot tournament. We look forward to seeing everyone in a future LIGBT event.
