Wantagh, NY: The LIGBT visited AMF Wantagh for a Handicap Doubles tournament. The winning team of the 4-game event was Jordan Ockimey, Amityville, NY and Jimmy Harris, Seaford, NY shooting a 2,170 series worth $2,000. Finishing in 2nd place, 51 pins behind, was the team of Joe Scianna, Long Island, NY and Nick Falsetta, N. Babylon, NY with a 2,119 series worth $1,000.
In third place, was the team of Leslie Farrell, Flushing, NY and Gregory Welch, Brooklyn, NY with a 2,098 series worth $800. Rounding out the top 4 was the team of Paul Verderosa, Massapequa, NY and Jimmy Harris with a 2,086 total worth $700.
A separate $20 optional singles event was won by Jimmy Harris with an 1,121 series worth $300. Finishing in 2nd was Joe Scianna with a 1,081 total earning $180. Rounding out the top 3 was Nick Falsetta with a 1,038 series worth $100. A total of 49 entries paid the $20 singles entry fee generating a 12-person $980 prize list.
The Sunday doubles house shot event drew a record field of 146 teams, with 24 teams cashing in the 10,880-prize fund. The side action paid out an additional $4,955 bringing the day’s total payout to $15,835. The team cut score to cash on the house shot pattern was 1,943. The Brunswick ball and Turbo triple roller raffle winners were Donald Eubanks, Devon Johnson, and Karen Carpinelli. The LIGBT welcomed 7 new members at AMF Wantagh.
