The final shootout was a struggle for everyone on a very tough short pattern. Joe was the only bowler that didn’t have an open for the first 9 frames. Everyone else had a least 3 opens and was fighting for 2nd place. Nick, who opened his first 3 out of 5 frames, finished strong with 6 marks, including a double, that catapulted him from 5th to 2nd place. Carolyn never threw a strike but filled enough frames to take home 3rd place. Kyle started out strong with a double and was heading for a 2nd place finish but he opened his last 3 frames to drop to 4th.

The LIGBT 2-squad sport shot tournament drew a nice crowd of 92 entries, paid out $4,635 in prize money, and had 24 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action awarded an additional $4,960 bringing the total event payout to $9,595.

Scores to cash on the 35 foot “Boardwalk” pattern were very low: 620 at 1pm and 642 at 3pm. The wildcard winner, which is the highest 6-game series by a non-finalist, was 4th place finisher Kyle Exner with a 1,265. High series of the day was shot by our 3rd place finisher Carolyn Willis with a 716 in the 2nd squad. There were 8 raffle winners each winning a Storm ball or a Turbo triple roller.
