ERIC MUELLER (TWICE) & LESLIE BAPTISTE AMF E. MEADOW HOUSE SHOT CHAMPIONS!

Meadow, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran its annual Holiday House Shot Tournament at AMF E. Meadow featuring 3 different events. Eric Mueller, Brooklyn, NY won a total of $1,300 by winning the scratch and upper handicap events. Leslie Baptiste, Staten Island, NY won the lower handicap event and earned $800.

Leslie won the lower average handicap event with a 4-game total of 1093. Finishing 30 pins behind, with a 1063, was Carolyn Willis, Bethpage NY earning $400. Rounding out the top 3 was Joe Ferraiolo, W. Islip, NY with a 1045 worth $300. A total of 45 bowlers competed in this division which paid out a $2,600 prize fund to 11 different cashers. It took a 1023 series to cash in the lower average handicap event.

Eric won the upper average handicap event with a 4-game total of 1099. Finishing in second place, with a 1080 series, was Quan Jacob, Bronx, NY earning $400. Rounding out the top 3 was Curtis Hetmeyer, Brooklyn, NY with a 1075 worth $300. A total of 44 bowlers competed in this division which paid out $2,600 to 11 different cashers. It took a 1015 series to cash in the upper average handicap event.

Eric also won the scratch event with a 1051 four-game series (263 average) worth $500. Eric’s 279 final game jumped him over second place finisher Justin Kampf, Levittown, NY who shot a 1014 worth $300.  Rounding out the top 3 was Quan Jacob with a 1004 worth $200. The scratch event attracted 21 entries and paid out a $1,250 prize fund to 5 different cashers. It took a 985 series to cash in the scratch tournament.

The LIGBT Holiday Tournament drew a great field of 110 entries, paid out $6,450 in prize money, and had 27 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action paid out an additional $5,805 bringing the total event payout to $12,255. Michael Lamanno, Bayshore, NY shot the only 300 in the tournament in Game 2. After the tournament was over the LIGBT raffled off over 50 prizes to many lucky winners.

TOM CATALANO LEADS HIS QUAD TEAM TO VICTORY!

 Levittown, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran its first Quad team tournament at Levittown Lanes and it was a huge success. The winning team, with a 4-game total of 4,197 worth $4,000, was Tom Catalano, N. Babylon, NY, Joe Cigliano, W. Islip, NY, Zachary Koffsky, W. Islip, NY, and Sale Voulo, Bayshore, NY. Finishing in 2nd place with a 4,126 total, and earning $2,200, was the team of Carolyn Willis, Bethpage, NY, Dave Gribbin, Massapequa, NY, Dylan Joslin, Seaford, NY and John Joslin, Seaford, NY.

With a total of 30 teams competing, the top 5 teams cashed. Finishing in third place, and earning $1,200 with a total pinfall of 4,109, was the team of Julio Arnold, Woodside, NY, Peter Libranti, Wantagh, NY, Mick Nenna, Tobyhanna, PA, and Ed Passaro, Hicksville, NY. Finishing in fourth place with a 4,097 total worth $800, was the team of Bill Verni, W. Babylon, NY, Kristen Henry, W. Islip, NY, James Marinelli, S. Hempstead, NY, and Chris Mattina, W. Babylon, NY. Rounding out the top 5, with a 4,088 total worth $600 was the team of Darry and Andre McDuffie, Floral, Park, NY, Charlie Rembert, Floral Park, NY, and Jaleesa Taylor, Flushing, NY.

Scoring on the house shot was good with one perfect game bowled: Michael Romano, Massapequa, NY. The high individual handicap series was shot by Tom Catalano with an 1,179.  The total payout of the main event was $8,800. The side action paid out an additional $8,820. Total payout for the day was $17,620.

The LIGBT’s next event is the annual Holiday tournament at AMF E. Meadow on Sunday, December 19th at 1pm. This will be a 4-game house shot tournament featuring 3 different prize funds. MICHAEL DELILLO WINS HIS FIRST LIGBT TITLE

Wantagh, NY: Michael Delillo, a 47-year-old left-hander from Levittown, NY, won LIGBT’s latest sport shot tournament at AMF Wantagh. Mike’s first LIGBT title became reality when he defeated defending AMF Wantagh champion Eddie Eng, Flushing, NY, 227-220 in the final shootout. Mike earned $1,000 for his victory while Eddie took home $600 for his second-place finish. Also competing in the final shootout was third place finisher Charlie Rembert, Floral Park, NY, earning $400 with a 219. Fourth place went to Zachary Koffsky, W. Islip, NY with a 204 worth $300.

The final shootout was an exciting match as all 4 competitors had a shot at the title going into the last 2 frames. When Michael tripled in frames 8-10 it forced Eddie to double in the 10th to win. Eddie threw the first strike but left a split on his second shot to settle for the runner-up position. Charlie threw a triple in the last 2 frames to move up to third place. Zach, who tripled in frames 6-8, controlled his own destiny but he opened the last 2 frames to finish 4th.

The LIGBT 2-squad sport shot tournament drew a wonderful fall crowd of 100 entries, paid out $4,960 in prize money, and had 25 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action awarded an additional $6,145 bringing the total event payout to $11,105. Cut scores to cash on the 43-foot pattern were 668 at 1pm and 683 at 3pm. The wildcard winner, which is the highest 6-game series by a non-finalist, was Max Thomas, N. Babylon, NY with a 1310. The two squad leaders were Johannes Schulz at 1pm with a 771 and Ryon Lee with a 777 at 3pm.
