LIGBT & W.O.N. TELEVISION NETWORK FORM A PARTNERSHIP

Syosset, NY: The Long Island Generations Bowling Tour (LIGBT) is pleased to announce it has a formed a partnership with W.O.N Television Network to broadcast all LIGBT final shootouts. Currently, LIGBT video-taped finals can only be viewed on LIGBT’s YouTube channel or on the Tour’s website; LIGBTour.com. This agreement gives millions of additional viewers access to watch amateur bowlers competing for thousands of dollars in prize money.

W.O.N Television Network is an independent syndication network based in Brooklyn, New York. Its home base station is an internet television station called "Channel 48 WWON-TV, which is also located in Brooklyn, New York. Channel 48 can be seen on W.O.N’s website wonnewyork.net/wwon48 & on the @streamonabudget Showcase Network Platform on Roku.

The LIGBT will be airing on Channel 48 WWON on Saturdays @ 2:30pm ET, starting on December 16th. Additional stations, through the W.O.N. television network, will be carrying LIGBT shootouts in the near future. All LIGBT final shootouts will still be available on LIGBT’s YouTube channel and on the event’s website.

The LIGBT-W.O.N. partnership greatly improves the quality of LIGBT’s videos. With W.O.N.’s production and editing assistance the viewers now enjoy LIGBT final shootouts with slow motion replay, exciting graphics, and a video scoreboard. The goal with the partnership is to continue to upgrade the videos with new innovations that will enhance the viewer experience.

The LIGBT is one of the largest amateur bowling clubs in the country with over 3,000 members. In its first 15 years the LIGBT has distributed over $10,000,000 in prize money and attracted over 75,000 entries. With an expanded television audience the LIGBT growth will continue for many years ahead.

QUAN JACOB & ERIC TAYLOR SENIOR WIN HUGE THANKSGIVING DOUBLES

Meadow, NY: The LIGBT ran a Thanksgiving weekend Doubles Tournament at AMF E. Meadow and after the 4-games were completed Quan Jacob, Bronx, NY and Eric Taylor Sr., Jamaica, NY stood holding the $2,000 winner’s check. Quan and Eric finished with a 2,024 four-game total which was 27 pins ahead of the second-place team of Anthony Kemp, Fresh Meadows, NY and Al D’Angelo, Maspeth, NY. Anthony and Al shot a 1,997 series earning $1,000.

There were many great team performances at AMF E. Meadow. Finishing in third place with a 1,994 total, earning $700, was the team of Nathaniel Fuller, W. Babylon, NY and Darius Fuller, Bayshore, NY. Fourth was taken by Liz and Pierce Field, Shirley NY with a 1,987 total worth $600. Rounding out the top 5 was the team of Terrence Taylor, Flushing, NY and Eric Taylor Sr. with a 1961 total worth $500.

The Thanksgiving Doubles drew a wonderful field of 94 teams with 16 teams cashing in the $7,890 prize fund. The side action paid out an additional $4,275 bringing the total day’s payout to $12,165 The LIGBT welcomed 13 new members at AMF E. Meadow. The cut score to cash on the house shot pattern was 1,910.

The LIGBT’s next event is Sport Shot Series #3 at AMF Wantagh on Sunday, December 3rd (1pm & 3pm.) This event will be a special holiday tournament with over $1,000 in raffle prizes awarded. PETER PARENTI WINS HANDICAP TITLE JUSTIN KAMPF TAKES SCRATCH TITLE

Levittown, NY: The LIGBT, ran its second House Shot Series event of Season 16 at Levittown Lanes. The tournament used a 4-game format with the top 2 from each age handicap division advancing to a 4-person shootout. There was also a separate scratch competition. The handicap champion was Peter Parenti, Bayville, NY earning $1,000. The scratch winner was Justin Kampf, Levittown, NY earning $400.   

The final handicap shootout featured 4 bowlers of which three were looking for their first LIGBT title. The 4 contestants bowled well as there were just 6 open frames between them. Peter secured his title by throwing a strike and spare in the final frame giving him a 240-238 victory over 2nd place finisher Mike Opak, Kew Gardens, NY who earned $550. Finishing in third place was Alex Kuhne, Bethpage, NY with a 222 worth $350. Rounding out the top 4 was John Sandano, Brooklyn, NY with a 219 worth $300.

The scratch event was won by Justin Kampf with a 4-game total of 989 worth $400. Finishing in 2nd place with a 982 was Kyle Durfee, Levittown, NY earning $250. Rounding out the top 3 was Max Thomas, N. Babylon, NY with a 930 earning $150. The scratch event generated 15 entries and paid out $920.

LIGBT’s House Shot Series Event #2 drew a nice field of 82 entries, paid out $4,840 in prize money, and had 20 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action paid out an additional $2,295 bringing the total day’s payout to $7,135. Scores to cash were 946 in the 49 & under handicap division, 936 in the senior handicap division, and 902 in the scratch event.      

LIGBT’s next tournament is a special Thanksgiving weekend (Sunday, November 26th-1pm) Handicap Doubles event at AMF E. Meadow. Top prizes to the winning team will pay a minimum of $2,000. ANDREW MIENKIEWICZ WINS AMF BABYLON SPORT SHOT EVENT

Babylon, NY: The LIGBT visited AMF Babylon and run its second sport shot event of Season 16. Andrew Mienkiewicz, Dix Hills, NY won his 4th LIGBT title by defeating 2-time champion Tom Amendolara, Babylon, NY 267-239. Andrew earned $1,000 while Tom earned $600 for second place. Also appearing in the final shootout was third place finisher Eddie Eng, Flushing, NY shooting a 207 and earning $400. Rounding out the top 4 was Jacob Scotch, Massapequa, NY with a 189 worth $350.

Andrew started the shootout with the lowest handicap, but that didn’t worry the multi-champion, as he struck in his first 6 out of 7 frames to build an insurmountable lead. Tom, who bowls league at AMF Babylon, finished strong with 4 strikes but 3 early open frames hurt his title chances. Eddie couldn’t strike until the final frame but hung on to third place by marking in 8 out of his 10 frames. Jacob found the lanes hooking way too much for his style and finished in 4th.

The LIGBT 2-squad sport shot tournament drew a wonderful crowd of 118 entries, paid out $5,840 in prize money, and had 30 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action awarded an additional $4,510 bringing the total event payout to $10,350.  

Scores to cash on the 45 foot “Route 66” pattern were 716 at noon and 705 at 2pm. The wildcard winner, which is the highest 6-game series by a non-finalist, was Kenny Bruce, Oceanside, NY, with a 1,429. High series of the day was shot by our champion with a 799 in the first squad.
