Wantagh, NY:  The LIGBT hosted a 4-game sold out Mini-Marathon at AMF Wantagh and crowned 3 new champions on Sunday. Frankie Sanchez, Astoria, NY, earned $1,000 by winning the 49 & under handicap division. Calvin Nottingham, Deer Park, NY earned $1,000 by winning the 50 & over handicap division. Scott Kampf, Levittown, NY earned $600 by winning the scratch event.

The 49 and under handicap tournament drew 64 entries and paid out 16 cash positions. Frankie Sanchez shot a 1075 to win the title and the $1,000 top prize. Finishing second was Dwayne Adams Jr., New York, NY with a 1058 worth $500. It took a 994 series to cash in the under division.  

The senior handicap tournament drew 50 entries and paid out 12 cashing positions. Calvin Nottingham shot a 1064 to win the title and the $1,000 top prize. Finishing in second was Keith Cordy, Jamaica, NY with a 1047 worth $500. It took a 954 series to cash in the senior division.

The scratch tournament drew 31 entries and paid out 8 cashing positions. Scott Kampf shot 993 (248 average) to win the title and the $600 top prize. Finishing in second was Keith Cordy with a 967 worth $300. It took a 908 series (227 average) to cash in the scratch division.

The LIGBT December Mini-Marathon drew a total of 145 entries, paid out $8,655 in prize money, and had 36 bowlers go to the cashing window (almost a 1 in 3 ratio!) The LIGBT welcomed 18 new bowlers and apologizes to all of the bowlers that were shut out due to the maximum of 6 bowlers per pair.
