Levittown, NY:  The LIGBT visited South Levittown Lanes and crowned a brand new champion. Congratulations to Tom Amendolara, Babylon, NY who won his first LIGBT and the $750 top prize. Tom earned his title the hard way as he had to defeat a record crowd of 159 bowlers to win the championship. A total of 32 bowlers advanced to the finals and competed for close to $6,000 in prize money.

Tom’s road to victory started early as he lead the first squad with a 767 handicap series. But from the fifth to the tenth frame he threw strikes and ended up with a 259 (216 scratch) to win the title by 7 pins.

The 5 person final shootout consisted of 5 newcomers to the final match with all hoping to secure their first LIGBT title. Finishing second was Robert Lovaglio, Seaford, NY who earned $400 with a 252 (216 scratch.) Third place went to Kevin O’Neill, Glendale, NY who was the second squad leader with an incredible 803 handicap series. Kevin earned $350 with a 229 (193 scratch.)
