South Levittown, NY: The LIGBT visited South Levittown and a great crowd of 121 entries packed the center on a beautiful Sunday. Emerging victorious for the first time was Cynthia Cooke of Patchogue, NY. Cynthia won the $600 top prize by shooting a 252 handicap game in the final shootout against 3 other competitors.

The final shootout consisted of four bowlers that had never won an LIGBT title. Despite some obvious nerves in the early stages some great bowling took place with Cynthia taking control early. Cynthia, who was getting the most handicap, bowled the highest scratch game in the finals with a 177. Finishing second and earning $300 with a 228 handicap game, was Fred Jankowsky, Brooklyn, NY. Fourth place went to the 1pm squad leader, Darryl Freeman of New York City who shot a 175 and earned $225.

There were a total of 27 finalists all who earned a minimum of $100 and shared in a $4,400 prize fund. Top series of the day was rolled by Darryl Freeman with an 813. It took a 697 series to make the cut in the 1pm squad and a 713 in the second squad. The wildcard winner, which is the highest 6 game series by a non-finalist, was earned by Donald Eubanks with a 1389 handicap series.
