ADAM DeROSSI DOMINATES TO WIN HIS FIRST LIGBT TITLE

Garden City, NY:  Adam DeRossi, a 32 year old right-hander from Massapequa Park, NY, won his first LIGBT title with a dominating performance in the final shootout. Adam shot a 293 handicap game to defeat second place finisher, Andrew Mienkiewicz, Massapequa, NY by an amazing 77 pins! Adam earned the $1,000 top prize while Andrew took home $500 with his 216 game.

The final 4 shootout started out with all 4 bowlers looking for their first LIGBT title. Adam, who was getting the most handicap, got off to a quick start with an early triple and never looked back. He expanded his lead throughout the match and secured his title by the 8th frame. Finishing in third place was Steve Chiu, Little Neck, NY, with a 203 worth $300. Finishing in fourth was Monique Compton, Bronx, NY with a 183 worth $275.

The AMF Garden City tournament drew a record October crow of 129 entries, advanced 22 bowlers to the finals, and paid out $4,655. Kegel’s “Winding Road pattern (39 feet) was used resulting in moderate scoring; the cut was 731 in the 1pm squad and 710 in the 3pm squad. High series of the tournament, 829, was shot by Dave Soren, Long Beach, NY in the 1pm squad.  

LIGBT’s next tournament is a regular 2 squad (1pm & 3pm) handicap event at S. Levittown Lanes on Sunday, October 25th. Top prizes are guaranteed to pay $1,000 & $500 with 1 in 6 advancing to the finals per squad and guaranteed a minimum of $80. Cash entry fees are only $65 and $55.
