Wantagh, NY:  Antonino Dilluvio, a 31 year old right hander who works for Uber and is from Flushing, NY, won his first LIGBT title by defeating Mike Nenna, Tobyhanna, PA 262-247 at AMF Wantagh. Antonino, who joined the club just one year ago, earned $1,000 for his victory while Mike earned $600. Rounding out the top 5 was third place finisher Robert Calabrese, Flushing, NY with a 239 worth $400, fourth went to senior Phil Rivera, Franklin Square, NY with a 229 worth $300, and fifth was taken by Jason Berchoff, Bethpage, NY with a 221 worth $250.

The 5-person shootout became a 3 person contest by the end of the match. Jason hit the pocket almost every shot but couldn’t strike and had to settle for 5th. Robert had an early lead but opened in the 6th and 8th frames to finish 3rd. When Antonino opened in the final frame both Phil and Mike needed doubles to win the title. Phil threw a 6 count and an open frame and Mike threw the first one but failed to strike on his second shot. Antonino won his first title sitting on the bench and was in shock at the final outcome.

The AMF Wantagh event drew a nice crowd of 117 entries, advanced 15 bowlers to the finals and cashed an additional 15 bowlers each earning $70. The total prize fund payout was $5,040. The house shot pattern created very high cut and cashing scores: The senior cut to the finals were 780 & 761 and the cashing scores were 753 & 732. The 49 & under division had cut scores of 805 & 769 and cash scores of 753 & 772.  High series of the tournament was shot by Phil Rivera with an 845 in the first squad.
