E. Meadow, NY: The Senior Legends Tour (SLT), sponsored by Storm Bowling, visited AMF E. Meadow and crowned two new champions. The winner of the handicap tournament, and earning $1,000, was Joe Biscardi, Wantagh, NY. The winner of the scratch event was Jose Perez, E. Elmhurst, NY who earned $500.
Scoring on the house shot was strong. To win the handicap event Joe shot a 1062 which was 42 pins ahead of second place finisher Antoine Thurston, New York, NY who shot a 1020 worth $535. There was a total of 74 handicap entries with 18 cashers. It took a 943 series to earn a minimum prize of $100.
The scratch event came down to the last game. Jose shot a 988 series just 7 pins ahead of second place finisher Steve Chiarella, Staten Island, NY who earned $265 with a 981 series. There was a total of 28 scratch entries which paid out 9 spots (1 in 3) for a minimum prize of $100. Two extra cashers were added due to the super senior bonus (65+). The super senior bowlers added to the prize list were Fred Ferreira, Kings Park, NY (887-$105) and Jack Evers, Huntington, NY (882-$100).
SLT’s fourth tournament attracted 102 total entries generating a $6,120 prize fund. A total of 27 bowlers cashed for a minimum of $100 which means 1 in 3 bowlers made it to the cashing window. The side action paid out an additional $4,740 bringing the day’s payout to $10,860.
