E. Meadow, NY: The LIGBT ran its 8th modified house shot series event of Season 17 and crowned 2 familiar champions. Maniram Basdeo, Bronx, NY won his 9th LIGBT title, worth $1,000 by winning the handicap event. Pierce Field, Shirley, NY won the scratch title, worth $500, for his 4th LIGBT title.

Maniram shot a 1,030 total to advance from the senior division along with Max Thomas, N. Babylon, NY who led the senior handicap division with a 1,043. The final shootout was an exciting contest as 3 bowlers went into the final 2 frames with a shot at the title. When Maniram spared in the 10th it forced Max to throw a triple to win by 1 pin. But a stubborn 10 pin on his first ball put Max in 2nd place with a 241 worth $600. Mike needed to strike out from his 8th frame on to win but he left a stoned 9 pin in the 9th frame and settled for third place worth $400. Kamaal, competing in his first shootout, bowled well but could not throw consecutive strikes and settled for 4th place with a 220 worth $300.

Pierce won the scratch event by shooting a fine 976 four-game total worth $500. Finishing in 2nd place, 25 pins behind Pierce, was Max Thomas with a 951 worth $300. Rounding out the top 3 was Brandon Hughes, W. Hempstead, NY with a 925 worth $200. The scratch event drew 21 entries and paid out a 5-person prize list totaling $1,260.
