CHARLES KO, MIKE NENNA, & JOE BISCARDI EACH WIN LIGBT TITLES AT AMF E. MEADOW

E. Meadow, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran its monthly house shot Mini-Marathon at AMF E. Meadow and attracted an amazing crowd of 160 total entries and paid out almost $17,000. Three different champions were crowned: Charles Ko, Palisades, NJ earned $1,000 by winning the 49 & under handicap event. Mike Nenna, Tobyhanna, PA earned $1,000 by winning the 50 & over handicap tournament. Joe Biscardi, Wantagh, NY earned $650 by winning the scratch competition.

The 49 and under handicap tournament drew 49 entries and paid out 12 cash spots. In the final match top seed Kenny Hayes Jr., Brooklyn, NY (1113) bowled the winner of the semi-final match Charles Ko. Charles dominated the final match by shooting a 318 (279 scratch) to earn the $1,000 top prize. Kenny’s 268 earned him $500. The other top finishers that advanced to the semis were 3rd place finisher Scott Gray, E. Meadow, NY earning $300 and 4th place finisher Matthew Kennedy, Floral Park, NY earning $250. It took a 980 series to cash in the 49 & under event which paid out $3,135.  

The 50 & over handicap tournament drew 75 entries and paid out 19 cashing positions. In the final match top seed Mike Nenna (1120) bowled the winner of the semi-final match Kenny Bruce, Oceanside, NY. It was a close match until the last few frames when Mike threw a string of strikes and defeated Kenny 277-248. Mike earned $1,000 for first while Kenny earned $600 as the runner-up. The other top finishers that advanced to the semis were third place finisher Eddie Cintron, Laurelton, NY earning $350 and 4th place finisher Vincent DiClemente, Wantagh, NY earning $250. It took a 990 series to cash in the 50 & over event which paid out 4,375.

The scratch tournament drew 36 entries and paid out 9 cashing positions. In the final match top seed Joe Biscardi (1062) defeated Joe LaBargo 284-214. While Joe Biscardi took home $650 for winning the scratch event, Joe LaBargo, who advanced as the winner of the semi-final match earned $400 for his runner-up position. The other top scratch finishers that advanced to the semis were third place finisher Tavie Caratozzolo, Middle Village, NY earning $300 and 4th place finisher Vincent DiClemente, who advanced to 2 semi-finals, earning $200. It took a 907 series (227 average) to cash in the scratch event which paid out $2,160.

The LIGBT Mini-Marathon at AMF E. Meadow drew a sold-out crowd of 160 entries, paid out $9,670 in prize money, and had 40 bowlers go to the cashing window. The side action paid out an additional $7,165 bringing the total event payout to $16,835. The LIGBT welcomed 16 new bowlers and gave away a Storm ball to Nyles Davis who won the ball raffle. Isagani Chacon Jr. won $50 also in the ball raffle.

LIGBT’s next house shot tournament is another 4-game scratch and handicap Mini-Marathon at AMF Syosset, Sunday, April 11th at 1pm.
