Garden City, NY: The LIGBT, sponsored by Storm, ran a 3-event house shot major at AMF Garden City and crowned 3 champions. The winner of the 49 and under handicap event was Glenn Edward, Brooklyn, NY. The winner of the senior handicap event was Daniel Todaro, Farmingdale, NY. The scratch champion was Justin Kampf, Levittown, NY. The 3 champions earned a total of $3,700.   

Glenn’s road to the title began by shooting an incredible 860 in the Friday 8pm squad. In the final shootout Glenn threw the only clean game of the 5-person competition to earn the $1,200 top prize. Glenn began the final match with a 4-timer and never looked back. Finishing in second place, with a 247, was Darius Fuller, Bayshore, NY earning $700. Third place went to Sam Farber, Merrick, NY with a 236 worth $400. Rounding out the top 5 was 4th place finisher Sang Hyub Oh with a 219 worth $300 and 5th place finisher Charles Ko with a 216 earning $250. The 49 & under handicap event had 91 entries with 28 bowlers cashing (3 to 1 ratio) and a total prize fund of $5,330 including $1,235 added to the prize fund from LIGBT’s escrow account.

Daniel’s march to the senior handicap title started when he qualified with a 742 in the Sunday 2pm squad. In the final shootout Dan started with a triple and finished with another triple to shoot a fine 263 worth $1,500. Finishing in second was Curtis Hetmeyer, Brooklyn, NY with a 250 worth $750. Third place went to Robert Tibbs, Hempstead, NY with a 233 worth $400. Rounding out the top 4 was Sun Kim, Flushing, NY with a 219 worth $350. The senior handicap event attracted 146 entries with 38 bowlers cashing (3.8 to 1 ratio) and paying out a total prize fund of $7,440 including $510 added to the prize fund from LIGBT’s escrow account.

Justin’s road to the scratch title began on Friday when he led the 10pm squad with a 729 series. The 6-person scratch final shootout was a strike fest with Justin throwing strikes in every frame except the 7th when he had an open frame. Adam Chase, N. Babylon, NY starting with the first 7 strikes but a ringing 10 pin on his first ball in the 10th frame cost him the title. Justin shot a 265 worth $1,000 while Adam finished with a 259 earning him $700. Finishing in third was Abdul Sulley, Brooklyn, NY with a 226 worth $500. Fourth went to Tom Montilli, Bronx, NY with a 223 worth $400. Rounding out the top 6 was 5th place finisher Tom Coraci, Mastic Beach, NY with a 214 earning $300 and Curtis Hetmeyer, Brooklyn, NY finishing in 6th place with a 205 worth $250. The scratch tournament drew 89 entries, cashed 23 bowlers (1 to 3.8 ratio), and paid a prize fund of $4,255 with $250 added from the LIGBT escrow account.        

The LIGBT House Shot Major was a huge success with 365 total entries, 89 bowlers cashing, and an event payout of $17,025 (with $1,995 added by the LIGBT.) The side action paid out an additional $15,955 bringing the total event payout to $32,980. The winner of the Storm ball raffle was Devon Johnson, Brooklyn NY.
